Bible Study – Re-Framing Jesus: A Progressive Perspective
Mondays 5:30-6:30pm (Begins September 22nd)
Who is this Jesus of Nazareth? What does the Bible say about his life, work as a Jewish Rabbi, and his prophetic witness to radical inclusion and love for others? Join us as we (re)discover Jesus through a historical and cultural lens that informs our spiritual lives in new and profound ways. After the meeting, we have the option to attend Slow Food’s Family Dinner Night at 6:30pm. If you have questions or are interested in the study, please contact our student Ministry Intern Cody.
Music Team — If you have musical talent you would like to share, contact our Music Leader, Cody Goetz, to explore possibilities.
Queer Students of Faith LGBTQ+ Discussion and Support Group Tuesdays at 6 – 6:45 pm (starting September 13): A safe space to learn, share experiences, find spiritual support and grow as a queer person of faith. Students of all faith traditions are welcome! Led by Rev. Manny Santiago.
Meditation Circle Fridays 3:30-4:30 pm — “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). Take 45 minutes to an hour out of your busy week to gather with others and be still and listen for the voice of God, resting deeply in the one who says “Come to me all who labor and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Newcomers as well as practiced meditators are welcome to join us. We begin the time with 20 minutes of Centering Prayer, a contemplative practice in the tradition of monks Thomas Merton and Thomas Keating. Following this meditative prayer, we then end with the ancient practice of Lectio Divina (Holy Reading of Scripture). For more information, contact Campus Minister Karla
Interfaith Programming: Students from the Crossing, Hillel, and the Muslim Student Association are planning activities for this Fall. Watch for more information. Contact Campus Minister Karla.
