Slow Food UW is a student organization that provides students with opportunities to unite with local farmers and chefs to bring the rich traditions of local, sustainable eating to the campus community. Slow Food is an international organization with chapters around the world, and SFUW is proud to be one of the first university chapters. The Slow Food movement champions the idea that what we eat affects not only our own health and well being, but also the health and well being of society, the economy, and the environment. There are many ways that you can get involved with this vibrant and growing student organization. You can start off by coming to one of Slow Food’s Family Dinner Nights (held every Monday night at the Crossing), but make sure to check out their website to learn more about how you can help promote just and sustainable food practices in Madison.
